Did You Know? The Boys & Girls Club of Baldwin and Jones County, Incorporated offers a free beverage server training to local retailers. Our intent is to create conditions that raise the accountability of retailers to reduce access to youth 9 to 20 years of age. The training is performed through the Professional Server Certification Corporation (PSCC). PSCC offers state approved server certification courses. The responsible server course teaches you how to serve alcohol responsibly. Topics in this course include: how to spot a fake id, how to tell when someone is intoxicated, how to cut someone off when they've had too much to drink, and the legal responsibilities of a server as well as state's laws. PSCC's Responsible Serving Course provides official certification for alcohol servers and sellers, and possible insurance discounts for establishments. Sellers and servers that are eligible for the training include all those employed by convenient stores, liquor stores, grocery stores, bars, and restaurants. The benefit of taking the course online is that you can work through the course on your own time and at your own pace.
